Terms of Use
Effective October 2, 2026 · Last updated October 4, 2026
At a glance
- parlor study is an invitation-only preview. Features may change, break or be removed, and the preview may end.
- AI feedback can be wrong. It is a study aid, not a grade or a teacher's judgment.
- Don't use parlor study to cheat on graded work, misuse the service, or upload material you don't have the right to use.
- Your notes and answers stay yours. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
- You must be 13 or older, with one account per person. We can suspend accounts that are misused.
- A demo account is limited: a lighter AI model that makes more mistakes, a weekly AI limit and an end date. Referral rewards have no cash value unless we offer money shares, and abuse forfeits them.
1. These terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Nevel Trade Inc, a Florida corporation (“we”, “us”), which operates parlor study at parlorstudy.com and its supporting server (the “Service”). By creating an account, signing in or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms and agrees to them on your behalf.
2. A preview, not a finished product
The Service is in an invitation-only preview. We are testing it with a small group of people and changing it often. As a result:
- features may change, stop working, or be removed without notice, and the Service may be unavailable at times;
- usage limits, AI allowances and the way the Service works may change during the preview;
- we may end the preview or the Service at any time. Where we can, we will give notice and a chance to download your data from Settings → Your data before your saved work is removed;
- keep your own copies of anything important. The Service is not a backup or a records system.
We appreciate testers keeping the preview to themselves while it is unfinished, but nothing in these Terms requires confidentiality from you.
3. AI feedback has limits
The Service uses AI models to write questions, discuss books, give feedback on answers and build study aids. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent or out of step with how your course or instructor treats a topic. It is a study aid only:
- it is not a grade, an assessment by a teacher or school, or a decision about your eligibility for any course, credential or service;
- check important facts against your course materials, your instructor or other reliable sources;
- it is not professional advice of any kind (for example medical, legal, financial or mental-health advice).
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to cheat or to break your school's or instructor's rules on academic integrity, such as submitting AI output as your own work on a graded assignment or using the Service during an exam where that isn't allowed;
- upload, paste or share material you don't have the right to use, including copyrighted text or images you are not permitted to copy, or other people's private information without permission;
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or submit content that is unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit;
- try to get around usage limits, invitations, class codes or security checks; probe, scan or attack the Service; or access accounts or data that aren't yours;
- use automated tools to access the Service, extract its content or AI output in bulk, or resell or provide the Service to others;
- copy, reverse engineer or build a competing product from the Service, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
- use the Service in a way that breaks the law or the usage policies of our AI providers (OpenAI and Anthropic).
5. Your content
You keep the rights you have in the notes, lecture material, answers, messages and other content you put into the Service (“Your Content”). You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, copy, process and display Your Content, and to send it to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy, only as needed to run, secure, support and improve the Service for you. This permission ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies kept as described in our Privacy Policy (for example in backups or provider records).
You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights to use it. Public-domain books in the Service come from Project Gutenberg; your use of them is subject to any terms that come with them.
We do not use your name, Your Content, quotes or screenshots in our marketing without asking you first.
6. Feedback and suggestions
If you send us ideas, suggestions, bug reports or other feedback about the Service (“Feedback”), through the feedback portal, by email or any other way, you agree that we may use, change and share that Feedback for any purpose without paying you, crediting you or having any other obligation to you. Feedback does not include Your Content stored in your account, which section 5 covers.
7. Accounts
- Age: you must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 13, do not use it.
- One person, one account: each account is for one person. Don't share your account or sign-in codes, and don't create more than one account. Invitations, demo links and class codes are for the people they were given to.
- Accurate details and security: sign in with an email address you control, keep access to it secure, and tell us at info@neveltrade.com if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Suspension and closure: we may suspend, limit or close an account that breaks these Terms, puts other people or the Service at risk, or where the law requires it. Where appropriate and lawful, we will tell you why. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in Settings.
8. AI allowance, demo accounts and referrals
During the preview, accounts may receive a free AI allowance (credits) that limits how much AI processing each person uses. Credits, including credits given as referral rewards, have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and may be changed, reset or ended. Paid plans are not offered in the preview; if we introduce them, separate terms will apply before you pay anything.
Demo accounts. If you join with a demo link or demo invitation, your account is a demo account so you can try the Service. In a demo account all AI features use a lighter model, which can make more mistakes than the model used for full accounts; AI use is limited each week; some features are not available; and the demo ends on the date shown in the app. After that you can still read your saved work, but AI features stop unless we give your account full access. You can ask for full access; we decide whether to give it, and we may end, shorten or change demos at any time. Section 3 applies to demo feedback in full.
Referral links. If we turn on a referral link for your account, you may share it with people you know who might want to use the Service. Rewards, if any, are described in the app when you share and may change; changes don't affect rewards already given. You must not refer yourself or anyone using another account of yours, create accounts to collect rewards, trade sign-ups, offer people anything to use your link, or post your link in spam or in places that don't allow it. If you post your link publicly, say that you may get a reward. We may hold a referral for review, withhold or reverse rewards obtained against these Terms (including unspent reward credits and amounts not yet paid), turn off a link, or change or end the referral program at any time.
Money shares (when offered). If we offer a share of friends' purchases as money, you can choose it only if you are 18 or older and live in the United States. Earnings become available after a hold period shown in the app and can be paid by PayPal or Venmo once they reach the minimum shown there. Refunds, chargebacks and disputes of a friend's purchase reduce your earnings, including from later amounts, and a dispute may pause payouts while we look into it. You are responsible for any taxes on what you receive, and we may ask for tax information before paying. Payouts made against these Terms may be cancelled or recovered.
9. Other services
The Service relies on other companies, such as Google for optional sign-in, our AI providers, and the separate Help and Feedback services described in our Privacy Policy. Their services are subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for services we don't control, or for websites the Service links to.
10. Our service
We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, design, text written by us and the parlor study name. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to use the Service for your own study during the preview. Open-source components are licensed under their own terms.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE, THAT AI OUTPUT WILL BE CORRECT, THAT THE SERVICE WILL IMPROVE YOUR RESULTS, OR THAT SAVED CONTENT WILL NOT BE LOST.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, NEVEL TRADE INC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, LOST PROFITS, OR ACADEMIC OR PROFESSIONAL CONSEQUENCES (SUCH AS GRADES), ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND US $50.
Some places do not allow certain warranties to be excluded or liability to be limited, so some of sections 11 and 12 may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Responsibility for misuse
To the extent allowed by law, you agree to cover reasonable losses and costs (including legal fees) we incur because of a claim by someone else arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before bringing a claim, please contact us at info@neveltrade.com so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that isn't resolved will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court where it qualifies. If you live somewhere whose law gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, these Terms do not take that right away.
15. General
- Changes: we may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the Service or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
- Ending: sections 5, 6 and 10 to 15 continue after your use of the Service ends.
- Whole agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If a part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part right away doesn't waive it. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them with the Service.
